October Events and Activities with the CYP CLUB
For those of you looking for some great social, professional, cultural, athletic, and philanthropic activities this October, the CYP CLUB has got it all.

We'll kick off October with a promotion and presence at 'A Taste of Grandview Heights' on Sunday, October 3rd, followed by our Speaker Networking Breakfast (monthly topic: "How Paying it Forward Pays you Back") on Tuesday, October 5th, and a Culture Series group outing to see 'Berlin to Broadway,' with Opera Columbus and Outlook Columbus on Thursday, October 7th and Friday, October 8th. You'll have two chances to see this spectacular show and get invited to a private, pre-show reception at the historic Lincoln Theatre on either night!

Then we'll kick it up a notch with a Movie Night & Happy Hour to see 'The Social Network' on Monday, October 11th at the Arena Grand Theatre just a few days before our BIG social event of the Fall, the CYP CLUB Fall Member Mixer at Park Street Cantina on Wednesday, October 13th!

New Event: Movie Night & Happy Hour on Oct. 11
Join other CYP CLUB members and friends for a Movie Night on Monday, October 11th at the Arena Grand to see The Social Network along with a Happy Hour to get you acquainted with some folks in our social network. Cost is $10 per person, which includes: Your first drink, a movie ticket to see The Social Network with your new friends, and a pre-show social event with other members of the CYP CLUB.

This event is intended to be a smaller, more intimate outing for our members to meet one another and see a great flick post-Happy Hour.

All are welcome to attend, but you must register online.

Three Upcoming Social Events
You're invited to the CYP CLUB's signature social event of the Fall - the 3rd Annual Old School Beer Game Night at the Lodge Bar on Friday, September 24th from 6:30-10:00pm.

All the classic drinking games will be available: • Beer Pong • Flip Cup • Quarters • Card games (Poker, Euchre, Go Fish, etc.) • Drinking Jenga • The Name Game • I Have Never • Cornhole • And more!

Heavy discounts on pitchers of beer will allow you to decide what you want to drink and what games you'll want to play, including $1 well drinks, $2.25 pitchers, and $3 U-Call-Its. Plus, you can try your luck to win some prizes at the "Wheel O' Yelp," we'll have a live band Teddy Krunkspin on stage at 9pm, and the first 100 people to walk through the door will receive an 'Old School Beer Game Night' pint glass, courtesy of Columbus Alive!

CYP CLUB Culture Series: Fall 2010 Schedule Announced
We proudly announce the CYP CLUB Culture Series Calendar for Fall 2010 with some great events and promotions that you should definitely check out.

September 30 "The Last Smoker in America" at Riffe Center, Studio One, 6:00pm (pre-show reception), 7:30-9pm (performance).
October 3 A Taste of Grandview Heights at McKinley Field Park, 2-7pm.
October 7 and October 8 "Berlin to Broadway" at the Lincoln Theatre, 6pm (pre-show reception), 8pm (performance).
October 8-11 Experience Columbus Days. Get 50% off admission and other spectacular discounts to the city's top attractions and entertainment.
October 20 "Brews and a View" at COSI, 6-8:30pm.
October 28 Group Dance Lessons: Learn Michael Jackson's "Thriller" at Fred Astaire Dance Studios, 7:45-9:15pm.
November 14 "Short North Gallery Mini Hop" with the Short North Business Association along High Street, 2-5pm.

Volunteer this Sunday for Healthy Neighborhoods, Healthy Families
Help United Way of Central Ohio's GenNext beautify two neighborhood blocks on the near South Side (right around Nationwide Children's Hospital) as they assist in the renovation of 3 homes. Volunteers will landscape, paint, drywall, clear brush, power wash, and much more.

When: Sunday, September 19th from 1:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.

Where: Livingston Elementary School, 825 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, OH 43205

Come dressed ready to work with comfortable shoes, and bring work gloves if you have them! Food and drink will be provided.

Join us for "Creating Community: A CYP CLUB Philanthropy Info Social" on 9/21 at King Avenue 5
Through our membership, we have the opportunity to give back in many ways. We are looking for a few good people to help create that vision for the CYP CLUB through our Philanthropy Committee.

If you've been looking for a way to get more involved with the CYP CLUB, this is your chance! Join us on Tuesday, September 21st from 6-7:30pm for Creating Community: A CYP CLUB Philanthropy Info Social to talk about how YOU can help the CYP CLUB create community around Columbus. The event will be hosted at King Avenue 5 Restaurant & Lounge in Grandview.

This meeting will focus on sharing a bit about some of the non-profit organizations we have partnered with in the past, philanthropic events and volunteer activities that we have developed over the last few years, and looking ahead to some of our upcoming volunteer goals. There are many ways to help out, so we hope you'll join us at this meeting and throughout the year.

Get Motivated! is an explosive, exciting, inspiring, skill-building business event that is world famous for its mega-watt superstar speakers, such as Jim Tressel, Joe Montana, Zig Ziglar, Rudy Giuliani, and John Walsh, who will all headline the event. If you want tickets for this seminar, you'll need to attend The Future of Downtown Columbus event.

Volunteers Needed for Independents' Day 2010
Independents' Day is a simultaneous effort by active and creative people of Columbus to display their talents and abilities. An all-for-one, one-for-all mentality culminates into a daylong explosion of creative spirit along Gay Street and Pearl Alley in downtown Columbus on Saturday, September 18th.

ID10 needs help with several volunteer shifts, including setup (helping independent business exhibitors get ready), Parking lots (making sure organizers/performers' vehicles aren't overstaying their welcome), Stages (roadie for a day), Helping bands load in/load out + hang out backstage, Beer slinging (you know what this is), and Teardown (end of one job + some tear down). The event runs from Noon to Midnight.

Our Fifth Annual Cornhole Tournament & Social is Tonight
Join us tonight from 6-9:30pm for our fifth annual Cornhole Tournament and Social at The Goat Bar & Tavern at Preserve Crossing in Gahanna! The Tournament is sold out but that's no reason to miss out on socializing with your CYP CLUB friends. It's free to attend the Social and watch the games. Enjoy delicious appetizers from Bob Evans (until they're gone), free volleyball courts, music by our DJ, and a beer sampling booth. All thanks to our partners at Lifestyle Communities. September Speaker Breakfast to feature Steve Baldzicki, Founder of Big Fish Networking
Establish new business connections and get to know other young professionals in a casual, career-focused setting at the monthly CYP CLUB Speaker Breakfast. Everyone will have the opportunity to introduce themselves and what they do, and also listen to a local guest speaker offer information and advice on business, careers, and other topics.

On Wednesday, September 8th from 7:30-9am we'll hear from Steve Baldzicki, Founder of Big Fish Networking, on "How to Make Networking Work for You."
