Eleven Rockin' Events for the Month of October
As we ease into the Fall season, back-to-school season, football season, and plenty of other seasonal festivities, you are inviting you to check out our ELEVEN rockin' events for the month of October (including TWO community events - 'Taste of Grandview' and 'State of the YP' - where we are community partners)! Taste of Grandview is this Sunday, Volunteers Needed
Taste of Grandview Heights is an annual culinary experience that features area restaurants and their best dishes. This year, the event will be held on Sunday, October 2nd from 2-7pm (rain or shine) on the SE Corner of Grandview Avenue and Goodale Blvd.
FREE ADMISSION AND PARKING!
Volunteers are needed to ensure the event is a success once again! If you are interested, please contact Rose Ann to volunteer at rgraf@holbrookmanter.com and mention you are with the CYP CLUB.
Savor food from area restaurants while enjoying live music by a great lineup of local talent. There will also be activities for all ages including a special area just for kids! Enjoy a great fall day with friends and family in a new, larger outdoor venue with a Beer Garden (first-year ever)!
Charity Event Spotlight: Dinner on a Dime
Come celebrate Hunger Action Month and gear up for Local Foods Week!
In partnership with Local Matters, Operation YP presents its third event: "Dinner On A Dime: Local Foods Edition." On Thursday, September 22nd, at North Market’s Dispatch Kitchen you are invited to attend a fun and educational program featuring a cooking demonstration with Local Matters Executive Director and chef, Michael Jones.
Three Philanthropic Events this Week
This week brings with it three philanthropic events with the CYP CLUB where you can connect with more than 50 non-profit organizations!
TUESDAY: VOLUNTEER INFO FAIR @ FRANKLIN UNIVERSITY
Do you want to give back to the community? Are you looking for a local volunteer opportunity? Or have you ever wondered how to get involved on a non-profit board? Meet with nearly 50 local non-profit and community organizations at the CYP CLUB's Volunteer Info Fair.
WEDNESDAY: SLICE OF COLUMBUS @ HUNTINGTON PARK
Come hang out with the CYP CLUB at Huntington Park for the annual Slice of Columbus pizza tasting fundraiser to benefit Nationwide Children's Hospital. You'll get to sample delicious pizza from 20 area pizza shops and vote for your favorite. As a CYP CLUB member, you can get a discounted ticket for only $10 if you register with us online. PLUS we'll have our own CYP CLUB Members Area!
THURSDAY: DINNER ON A DIME @ THE NORTH MARKET
Operation YP, in partnership with the CYP CLUB, presents: Dinner on a Dime: Local Foods Edition. You're invited to celebrate Hunger Action Month and gear up for Local Foods Week with a fun and educational program featuring a cooking demonstration presented by Local Matters Executive Director and chef, Michael Jones. Networking, music, door prize drawings, and more!

CYP CLUB Member Interview: Tim Carlton
Tim Carlton, 32, is the Hilliard Branch Manager for CME Federal Credit Union where he manages all daily sales, operations, and staff. He attended The Ohio State University and currently lives in Dublin.
Tim is a part of the Dublin Chamber of Commerce and Hilliard Chamber of Commerce, he participates in a variety of CYP CLUB Athletic sports, and he's been a CYP CLUB member since 2011. Meet Tim Carlton...
Charity Event Spotlight: Heroes Helping Humanity
Sunday, September 11, 2011 marks the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks that took nearly 3,000 lives. Join Kris Cannon, CYP CLUB Member Relations Coordinator, and Heroes Helping Humanity in paying tribute to those who fell, those who survived and those who are still fighting for our freedom.
On Sunday, September 11, 2011, the Memorial Walk starts at 9am followed by the Memorial Ceremony from 10am-12pm at Huntington Park (330 Huntington Park Lane, Columbus, Ohio 43215).
Some of the special guests at the event will be Mayor Michael B. Coleman, ALL of the City Council Members & Council President Ginther will be there, Franklin County Commissioners, Northland High School marching band, Bowery Boys, Lima Company survivors & memorial wall displayed, special video tribute, and much much more!
Wednesday's Wine Tasting and next week's Trivia Night
Don't miss our FALL WINE TASTING event on Wednesday from 7-9pm at Camelot Cellars. It's a great way to meet other young professionals in a casual setting. The event includes five tastes (2 reds, 2 whites, and 1 specialty wine), cheese/crackers and light snacks, and a full bottle of wine to take home that evening. Mix, mingle, and enjoy a social evening of wine tasting and culture in the Short North with us. RSVP here.
And back by popular demand is our TEAM TRIVIA NIGHT & HAPPY HOUR next Wednesday (9/14) at Fado Irish Pub. Register as an individual or grab a few friends and form a team! Either way, you'll have a fun time.
