A Date 2 Remember 2012: A Sneak Preview

Without question, many young professionals have numerous appointments and dates to keep. This month, the CYP CLUB has a very important date we hope everyone certainly keeps in their memory - our fifth annual "A Date 2 Remember" charity date auction & fashion show on Saturday, January 28th. We spoke with Heidi Tharp, one of our valued D2R committee members handling the event, for all the details.

Q: Tell us about this event. What is "A Date 2 Remember" for those who don't know?
A: "A Date 2 Remember" is a very high-energy charity fashion show and date auction that the Columbus Young Professionals Club has hosted for the past five years in downtown Columbus. The date is set for Saturday, January 28th from 7-11pm, to be held at the LC Pavilion. We are expecting nearly 1,000 attendees this year with Flying Horse Farms and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation as our charity beneficiaries. Cocktail hour runs from 7-8, and the live fashion show and date auction runs from 8-11pm. Last year, we raised nearly $40,000 for charity.

Q: Why is it important for local young professionals to show up?
A: "A Date 2 Remember" is the premier social fundraising experience of the year for young professionals, the Columbus community, and local businesses. The event combines a live date auction with a fashion show – all for charity – featuring exciting, over-the-top date experience packages. There is something for everyone. Past date experience packages have included skydiving, trapeze lessons, flight lessons, scuba lessons, golf packages, tickets to sporting events and much more! There are red carpet paparazzi style photos, specialty drinks, Budweiser Craft Beer tasting, appetizers and desserts donated by Columbus' hottest restaurants, local celebrities and a fantastic DJ! Tickets purchased at the door are $45, while pre-sale tickets are available for $35; for the experience, the tickets are a rock bottom price!

Q: What is a "preview social"....?
A: The Preview Social for 'A Date 2 Remember' provides an opportunity to mix and mingle with 'D2R' date participants, charity beneficiaries, sponsors, the media and other CYP CLUB members and guests. It will be held at Hubbard Grille on Wednesday, January 11th from 6:30-8:30pm. Tickets purchased for 'D2R' will be discounted that night an additional $5 off the pre-sale price. So, they are only $30! There will be complimentary hors d'oeuvres (while they last) and drink specials (cash bar available), and the Preview Social is free!!

Q: Do you need any volunteers for the event?
A: Volunteers are in fact needed. If interested, a request to volunteer can be submitted at d2r@cypclub.com.

Q: Is there anything else you'd like to add?
A: This is the social event of the year! It's perfect for groups of guys, groups of girls, couples, friends and anyone else who wants to have a good time. Words don't do justice to how high energy and impactful this event is for Flying Horse Farms, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and Columbus. Don't miss out!
