Written by Chris Alexis, CYP CLUB Newsletter Coordinator
Young professionals have another opportunity to shape young minds and lives in the Central Ohio area.
The TriVillage Mentor League (TVML) operates a school-based mentoring program in the Grandview Heights and Upper Arlington communities. Teen volunteer mentors are matched with elementary-aged children for weekly mentoring activities. TVML serves more than 150 students each year.
TVML also helps facilitate traditional Big Brother Big Sister matches in Grandview and Upper Arlington. Any young professional who is interested in being a Big Brother or Big Sister to a child in these communities may contact Elisabeth Dilz at (614) 255-7942 or tvmldirector@mentorleague.org.
The group's annual Bid & Benefit Kids in our Community event is set for Friday, November 16th from 7:00-10:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Victory Parish Center in Marble Cliff. This casual silent auction event provides for more than half of the TVML annual budget. Individual tickets are $40 and available at tvml2012.eventbrite.com.
Young professionals looking to chip in should look into this opportunity. Volunteer help is needed leading up to and during the event.
Contact Elisabeth Dilz at the TriVillage Mentor League at 614-255-7942 or via email at tvmldirector@mentorleague.org.
