September Lunch & Learn: Non-Profits and YPs

The CYP CLUB Lunch & Learn series consists of monthly one-hour lunch sessions featuring a topical presentation on professional development, educational growth, personal enrichment, and/or community involvement. Lunch and refreshments will be provided, along with a new professional development program each month. Cost is $15 to attend for CYP CLUB members and guests (includes admission, networking, lunch, and program). Please register and pay online.

This month's presenter is Janet E. Jackson, President and CEO, United Way of Central Ohio.

About Our Presenter: Janet E. Jackson is president and CEO of United Way of Central Ohio, one of the largest United Way organizations in the country. Under her leadership, United Way is advancing the common good by creating opportunities for a better life for all. Janet is dedicated to setting and achieving concrete goals that address the root causes of problems, and help people achieve the building blocks for a good life: a quality education that leads to a productive career, income that can support a family through retirement, good health and a safe place to live.

Prior to coming to United Way, Janet served six years as Columbus City Attorney and nearly 10 years as a judge on the Franklin County Municipal Court.

Her honors and awards include: Allies of Equality Award from Equality Ohio, Woman of Achievement Award from the YWCA of Columbus and the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Humanitarian Award from the Columbus Education Association. She was inducted into the Ohio Women’s Hall of Fame in 2001.

Janet currently serves as vice chair of the Central Ohio Workforce Investment Board, and as a member of the boards of the Columbus Coalition Against Family Violence and The Center for Child and Family Advocacy.
