Culture Series: Grupo de Rua's H3 at Thurber Theatre

Join fellow CYP CLUB members at the performance of H3, across campus from the Wexner Center at the Thurber Theatre, and you'll also be invited to a 6:30pm pre-performance reception including hors d'oeuvres and one free drink from the bar.

More About the dance performance: Rising Brazilian talent Bruno Beltrão is a young choreographer based in Rio de Janeiro who infuses contemporary dance strategies with hip-hop attitude and action and has quickly become an international sensation. For his latest work, H3, Beltrão and Grupo de Rua—his impressive company of nine male performers—subvert the hip-hop clichés of showy acrobatic displays and macho stances. In their more nuanced approach, break dance-accented footwork evolves into a pulsating rhythmic base, building an ambient minimalist structure in a series of electrifying duets and ensemble sections.
