CYP CLUB Speaker Breakfast with Walker Evans, Founder of ColumbusUnderground.com

Establish new business connections and get to know other young professionals in a casual, career-focused setting at the monthly CYP CLUB Speaker Breakfast. Everyone will have the opportunity to introduce themselves and what they do, and also listen to a local guest speaker offer information and advice on business, careers, and other topics.

The event includes breakfast bagels, pastries, and coffee. The cost is $5 (if you pay online) or $10 (at the door) for CYP CLUB members and guests. Be sure to attend and bring plenty of business cards.

About Our Speaker: Walker Evans is the the founder of ColumbusUnderground.com, and a freelance creative consultant. He lives in the historic King Lincoln District adjacent to Downtown with his wife Anne, son Desmond and daughter Sophie. Walker enjoys the urban energy and culture that Downtown Columbus has to offer. Outside of work, he is engaged in a variety of civic activities including The North Market Development Authority Board of Trustees, Dine Originals Columbus Board of Directors, and the Create Columbus Commission. When he is not busy working or in meetings he enjoys watching films, cooking, playing video games, working on his house, exploring the city, and trying out new restaurants.

Walker grew up in Marysville, Ohio which is an northwestern exurb of Columbus. In 1998, he made the move to Columbus proper to attend school at OSU. Walker also attended CSCC and Franklin, and obtained his degree in Interactive Multimedia Technology. In the past 10 years he has worked for a large local Fortune 500 company, the State of Ohio, a printing and graphics firm, and a local newspaper. He's also done a lot of creative freelance work in his spare time, and as of July 2007, went freelance full time.

ColumbusUnderground.com was launched in November 2001 as an online resource for all things Columbus. It originally started out with more of a nightlife focus centered around local music and entertainment. Since then it's gradually grown to cover other topics including art, restaurants, shopping, politics, urban living, movies, sports, and more. In October 2005, Columbus Underground was registered with the State of Ohio as a business entity and began to offer advertising opportunities aimed at local businesses.

Today, ColumbusUnderground.com has grown into a great community resource that attracts over 700,000 pageviews per month, and over 65,000 unique visitors per month.
