Opera Columbus and the Columbus Zoo & Aquarium will be hosting their eighth annual "Go Wild! for Opera" event - an evening of music, animals and fun - on Friday, July 9 at 8pm. This year's concert, "The Great American Songbook: Opera Meets Big Band" features some of the most talented singers in Columbus.
Come enjoy a summer's evening of American song at the zoo's Water's Edge Events Park featuring favorite local singers.
Through the CYP CLUB Culture Series, discounted tickets are available for CYP CLUB members for just $15 (normally $25). Your ticket(s) will be available the day of the show for pick-up at Will Call at the Zoo.
We'll have a pre-show meet-up at the carousel at the Zoo at 7:00pm, where you can meet other CYP CLUB members who are attending the event. The performance starts at 8:00pm.

About the Concert: The Rick Brunetto Big Band will take to the stage with master of ceremony Cabot Rea, Chuck Gillespie and David Weaver for an exciting evening of music highlighting the biggest singing stars and leading songwriters of the 1930's, 1940's and 1950's. Throughout the evening, you will enjoy a dazzling parade of American popular songs from the Gilded Age to New Orleans Jazz to Broadway Musicals
The 8th Annual Go Wild! for Opera program features the best of the great American composers performed by Mark Baker, Suzy Biehl, Willie Grové, Rebecca Keck, Craig Montgomery, Sarah Rhorer, David Weaver and Jennifer Whitehead.
And the zoo's very own Jungle Jack Hanna serves as the honorary chair.
