Establish new business connections and get to know other young professionals in a casual, career-focused setting at the monthly CYP CLUB Speaker Breakfast. Everyone will have the opportunity to introduce themselves and what they do, and also listen to a local guest speaker offer information and advice on business, careers, and other topics.
The event includes breakfast bagels, pastries, and coffee. The cost is $5 (if you pay online) or $10 (at the door) for CYP CLUB members and guests. Be sure to attend and bring plenty of business cards.
Guest Speaker: Alex Fischer, President & CEO of The Columbus Partnership
About Our Speaker: Alex Fischer is the President and CEO of the Columbus Partnership, a civic organization of Columbus, Ohio's top business leaders formed in 2002 to improve the economic and cultural base of Central Ohio. The Partnership is helping to lead the Columbus2020! economic development effort which is a collaboration of regional economic development organizations. The Partnership has 35 members including 15 fortune 1000 CEOs, the head of the Nation's largest University and the head of the world's largest research and development organization.
Previously he was Senior Vice President for Business and Economic Development for the Battelle Memorial Institute headquartered in Columbus, Ohio and served on the company's Executive Committee and as a Corporate Officer. His responsibilities included Commercialization of Battelle's technologies including the six national laboratories managed or co-managed by Battelle.
Before joining Battelle, Mr. Fischer served as the Deputy Governor and Chief of Staff to Tennessee Governor Don Sundquist. In this position, he served as the principal advisor to the Governor on all matters of the State of Tennessee including the oversight of the 22 agencies of state government.
A native of Hendersonville, Tennessee, Mr. Fischer graduated from The University of Tennessee in Knoxville with a bachelor's degree in economics and a master's degree from the school of Architecture and Planning.
