About Tim
After college I started working for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as a satellite navigation engineer, where I worked on a R&D project bringing GPS into the cockpit for commercial aviation. After about six years, I moved to Columbus, Ohio and accepted a forensic engineering position at my current company. In this role I examine electrical related failures (including fires) and provide expert testimony on behalf of litigators and insurance companies. In addition to the professional experiences, I have been a volunteer EMT and Firefighter for over 10 years serving in New York and New Jersey.
Community Involvement and Interests
Too many to list!
What does Columbus offer young professionals?
Columbus is an extremely diverse city that offers a multitude of professions and experiences. This diversity is what gives Columbus its charm. Oftentimes in bigger cities it's difficult to professionally and socially network, but with clubs such as this one – it provides an excellent platform to accomplish both.
What do you hope members get out of their involvement in the CYP CLUB?
I've had a great experience with CYP CLUB, and I hope that new members experience the same thing. There is so much that the CYP CLUB offers, I hope that new members find it as exciting and as educational as I have.
Why did you join the CYP CLUB?
Originally I joined for business networking. Being new to the area I wanted to set out making a name for myself in the industry. I soon realized that the CYP CLUB wasn't just about professional networking. There were so many facets of the organization that allowed me to learn about the community and make new friends doing it.
What's your favorite CYP CLUB event and why?
I love the new member dinners; the people are always so friendly and energetic to meet everyone. I'm still friends with people I met at my first new member dinner. My other favorite one is the "Old School Beer Night" because… what's better than beer games?
How would you describe Columbus?
The biggest little city in the Midwest!
