About Garrick
I was born in Boston, Mass. but spent most of my formative years growing up in Rochester, NY, spending many afternoons of upright sledding and snowball fights (as we might not see the ground for months at a time). I enjoyed playing baseball and basketball in high school, spent my first year of college at Bowling Green State University, and then transferred to The Ohio State University after freshman year. I graduated with a Communications degree, went back to school after a year to become licensed in Health and Physical Education from Ashland University.
I was a substitute teacher in the Columbus Public Schools for three years and a Physical Education teacher at Archbishop Lyke Catholic Schools in Cleveland for one year. I moved back to Columbus and taught Health at a Behavioral Management school in South Western City Schools for 2 years and then Health and PE at Westland High School.
Community Involvement and Interests
I like to stay in shape by rotating a variety of activities; including tennis, racquetball, basketball, badminton, and kickboxing, and maintaining healthy lifestyle. I enjoy goofy comedies, reading, attending sporting events, following FoxNews and History Channel, watching ESPN and traveling periodically to places such as San Francisco, Boston, and New York City.
