1. Take a Salsa dance lesson for turbans for Cancer patients
When: Tuesday, March 21 from 7:00pm-10:00pm
Where: The Boat House Restaurant (679 West Spring St. Columbus, OH 43215)
Why: Every Tuesday, Next Level Dance Academy opens up the floor at The Boat House at Confluence Park for their Baila Rico Salsa Tuesdays, a series of Latin dance lessons that benefit charity. Join the fun at this lively event this week to dance and donate to The Turban Project, a non-profit that crafts handmade turbans for cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy.

2. Take a painting class to support abuse victims
When: Tuesday, March 21 from 7:00pm-9:00pm
Where: Studio 614 (2487 Summit St. Columbus OH 43202)
Why: Local BYOB art center, Studio 614 will fundraise with creativity this Wednesday with one of their open Wood Pallet Painting Classes. During the 2-hour experience, guests can enjoy food & adult beverages while painting their own Pinterest-inspired masterpiece, with a portion of their admission going to Deaf World Against Violence Everywhere. This local organization focuses on empowering members of the deaf community who have experienced relationship and sexual violence.

3. Learn about volunteer opportunities over drinks with Green Columbus
When: Wednesday, March 22 from 6:00pm-8:00pm
Where: Goodale Park (120 W. Goodale St. Columbus, OH 43215)
Why: Local sustainability non-profit, Green Columbus hosts their Green Drinks events year-round with another edition returning this Sunday for Earth Day. Guests can enjoy craft beer and snacks while getting to know a variety of local non-profits & community impact organizations and discovering new ways to volunteer during the coming season.

4. Volunteer at a Free Produce Market
When: Thursday, March 23 from 2:00pm-5:30pm
Where: Stiles Elementary (4700 Stiles Ave. Columbus, OH43228)
Why: Help local families get access to fresh fruits & veggies with student achievement organization, Communities In Schools of Central Ohio as they host their monthly Free Fresh Produce Market this Thursday at Stiles Elementary. Volunteers are needed to help with set-up, cleaning, and assisting families as they sign in and carry groceries to their cars.

5. Volunteer at Welcome Warehouse for families in need
When: Thursday, March 23 from 6:00pm-8:00pm
Where: Welcome Warehouse (7032 Hospital Dr. Dublin, OH 43016)
Why: Social volunteerism club Columbus Gives Back invites area YPs to join them this Thursday as they head to Dublin’s Welcome Warehouse to assist with some work. This organization offers support and various resources like free clothing, bed donations, and emergency household assistance to families in the community who are temporarily in need.

6. Volunteer at a Family Community Service Project
When: Saturday, March 25 from 9:00am-1:00pm
Where: Worthington Kilbourne High School (1499 Hard Rd. Columbus, OH 43235)
Why: See Kids Dream is an organization dedicated to empowering children to achieve their full potential through a series of different education & skill-development programs. Each season, the group hosts a Quarterly Family Service Project, bringing families together to learn about issues in the community and complete hands-on volunteer work. Area YPs are invited to assist with SKD’s latest Service Project this Saturday, where they will help with set-up/tear down and various event logistics.

7. Cleanup highways for KickButt Columbus
When: Saturday, March 25 from 9:00am-2:00pm
Where: Meet at Wolfe Park (1911 E Broad St. Columbus, OH 43209)
Why: Every Spring, over 500 volunteers in the community join together for the City of Columbus’ official KickButt Columbus event, a highway ramp cleanup project in neighborhoods across town. The event is part of the Keep Columbus Beautiful initiative that addresses environmental issues, recycling & litter, and beautification of the community. Volunteers interested in the event can register as an individual or join one of CYP Club’s teams.
