Top 5 Events for YPs this Weekend

Check out some of the best events going on in Columbus this weekend! (April 13-16 2017):

1. Cbus Sports
Sports fans will have several chances to catch some sideline action this weekend with multiple noteworthy home games in the area. Thursday evening, the Columbus Clippers will kick off baseball season with their home opener, and will also play several following games throughout the weekend (thru 4/16) at Huntington Park. On Saturday (4/15), those longing for college football can catch the OSU Buckeyes’ only game of the spring season at the Shoe, while fans who are pumped for soccer can take in the Crew SC’s game against Toronto FC at Mapfre Stadium. Finally, on Sunday night (4/16), the Columbus Blue Jackets will also be playing the Pittsburgh Penguins at Nationwide Arena in their third Stanley Cup Playoff match.

2. Franklinton Friday
Every month, the thriving arts hub that is East Franklinton hosts Franklinton Friday, a community event that celebrates business, art, and culture in the neighborhood. In addition to all the local bars, cafes, and shops in the area, the event also features an artisan market, live music & entertainment, food trucks, and several unique art shows, galleries, and open houses & studios, where visitors can meet with local creatives and get an intimate look at their spaces. This funky monthly gathering is a true slice of the Columbus arts scene, a fabulous place to immerse yourself in beautiful things and interesting people.

3. Columbus Zoo’s Eggs, Paw & Claws
The Columbus Zoo & Aquarium will host its annual Eggs, Paws & Claws bash this Friday, with a plethora of special themed attractions across the grounds & amongst the critters throughout the day. This all-ages event appeals to more than just the tots, with highlights including live show-training demos at the Animals on Safari stage, Aqua-Bunny aquarium diving shows, the parade-like Character Rolling Celebration, and Egg Hunts for Animals, where guests can watch the zoo residents interact & play with their own Easter eggs (or the equivalent). Visitors can also explore the zoo’s numerous animal exhibits and catch everyday seasonal attractions like the Columbus Zoo Train, 4-D movies, carousel rides, and much more.

4. Flowers & Fashion at Franklin Park Conservatory
YP women’s social volunteerism group, the Junior League of Columbus will host their lavish Flowers & Fashion event this Saturday night (4/15) at the scenic Franklin Park Conservatory. The bash will include cocktails & hors d’oeuvres, pop-up shopping, live and silent auctions, and a fashion show; all set amongst the backdrop of the Conservatory’s lush plants, flowers, and elaborate Chihuly glass sculptures. Surely one of the most glamorous events of the weekend.

5. Adventure Hunt
Test your wits and explore the city with a friend this weekend as the touring challenge, Adventure Hunt hits the city on Saturday (4/15). This adults-only scavenger hunt will take players around town to unlock clues and complete challenges in hopes of scoring a variety of prizes. Winning teams at the end of this Amazing Race-style competition will go home with over $2,000 in adventure /outdoor rec swag, plus a 6-day dream vacation & resort stay in Panama for the grand champs.
