Check out these fun volunteer & fundraising events going on in Columbus this week! (April 17-23)

1. Grab pizza & beer to benefit homeless dogs
When: Tuesday, April 17 from 11:00am-10:00pm
Where: Pies & Pints (Short North: 1026 N High St, Columbus, Ohio 43201) (Easton: 4205 Weaverton Lane, Columbus, Ohio 43219)
Why: Help animals while indulging in the delicious comforts of beer and pizza this Tuesday as Cause for Canines hosts its Pies & Pints for Pups fundraiser at Pies & Pints in the Short North and Easton. 20% of the pizzerias’ proceeds from the day will be donated to Cause for Canines’ efforts to rescue & find families for homeless dogs.

2. Drink beer for the Humane Society
When: Wednesday, April 19 from 5:00pm-11:00pm
Where: Land-Grant Brewing Company (424 W. Town St. Columbus, OH 43215)
Why: Enjoy craft beer for a good cause this Wednesday as YP nonprofit, Leadership Columbus hosts its Pups ‘n’ Pints fundraiser at local brewery Land Grant. For this event, the bar will be donating 20% of the night’s sales to the Capital Area Humane Society, an organization dedicated to animal welfare & adoption. With over 4K “interested” and 600 “going” registrations on the event’s Facebook page, this bash is sure to be quite the party.

3. Volunteer at Goodwill Hilliard
When: Thursday, April 20 from 6:00pm-8:00pm
Where: Goodwill Hilliard (5526 Renner Rd. Columbus, OH 43228)
Why: Social volunteer organization Columbus Gives Back invites area YPs to join them at the Goodwill store in Hilliard this Thursday, where they’ll be helping with tasks like stocking shelves and sorting donated goods. The group will also head out for food & drinks after the event for some socializing.

4. Volunteer for Earth Day
When: Friday, April 21 & Saturday, April 22 (different shifts available)
Where: Various locations
Why: The month of April has been filled with Earth Day volunteer opportunities around the community, with several continuing this weekend. Volunteers can help out at recycling drives & cleanups, get their hands dirty with gardening & beautification projects, or even help out with Green Columbus’ official Earth Day Celebration at the Columbus Commons. 5. Volunteer at youth wrestling tournament
When: Friday, April 21 & Saturday, April 22 (different shifts available)
Where: Greater Columbus Convention Center (400 N. High St. Columbus, OH 43215)
Why: The world’s largest one-day wrestling tournament, the Ohio Tournament of Champions is hitting the Convention Center this weekend and volunteers are needed to help make it happen. Those interested in getting involved with this massive athletic event can volunteer to help with weigh-ins the day before, or assist with mat security the day of.

6. Attend COSI fundraiser Blast: The Big Science Bash
When:Saturday, April 22 from 7:00pm-11:00pm
Where: COSI Columbus (333 W Broad St, Columbus, Ohio 43215)
Why: Support the city’s science museum, COSI, as the center hosts its annual fundraiser, Blast: The Big Science Bash this weekend. The celebration will include live music, food from over 20 local restaurants, an open bar with craft beer & wine, a Silent Auction and Mystery Raffle, plus the chance to explore COSI’s fantastic exhibits without the daytime crowds.

7. Watch a fashion show for clean water
When: Sunday, April 23 from 6:00pm-9:00pm
Where: Brothers Drake Meadery (26 E. 5th Ave. Columbus, Ohio 43201)
Why: Teams of local hair, makeup, and design experts will showcase their creativity this weekend for the Aveda Catwalk for Water at Brothers Drake Meadery. This stylish party will include an Earth Day-inspired fashion show, food & drink, and a raffle with proceeds going towards clean water efforts by Sierra Club Ohio.
