About The Columbus Young Professionals Club

The Columbus Young Professionals Club, or CYP Club, is a networking group, a social club, a volunteer network, and an athletics coordinator all rolled into one massive membership organization.

With 22,000+ registered members, we hold the distinction as the #1 largest YP membership organization in the United States. Membership is comprised of young professionals, entrepreneurs, executives, students, artists, teachers, realtors, and more who live, work, and/or study in the greater Columbus, Ohio region. CYP Club members are among the most active, educated, and career-focused 21-45 year olds in the city.

"Our mission is to offer connections, access, and value for our members through professional and fun events, quality athletics, and community impact."

What Do We Do?

Founded in July of 2005, the CYP Club hosts social events, offers business networking and career development programming, organizes recreational athletic leagues and tournaments, and promotes volunteer activities on a weekly basis for a constantly growing membership of local young professionals.

Throughout the year, our calendar is full of professional, fun, and philanthropic events: some free, some with a fee to enter. This allows the flexibility to attend our events and activities based on your schedule, your preference, and your wallet. And we like to encourage members to get outside their comfort zone and try something new!

We come together regularly to raise money for non-profits (more than $350,000 so far) and we make it fun to meet new people. We send out an e-newsletter to all registered members about upcoming events once a week and have about 30,000+ social media followers. We also publish CitYPulse: The Young Professional's Guide to Columbus once a year. At its heart, the CYP Club is about providing local young adults with opportunities to connect with each other and with exciting opportunities throughout the city all while getting more involved and giving back to the community.

Membership Snapshot

CYP Club members are young, educated and active. Almost half of our members are between the ages of 25-29, and roughly a third are between the ages of 30-34. Ninety-two percent of members hold a bachelor's degree or higher. Every Ivy League college is represented, as well as all colleges in the Big Ten and all universities in the state of Ohio.

To be considered a member, the CYP Club requires a membership application to be filled out on our website so that we can verify job, location, contact information, and other demographic information. (We don't just add e-mail addresses to a mailing list.) This process is vital to knowing who our members are and what they want to get out of their membership.

Members work in varied industries, representing every company on the Top 100 largest employers in Columbus list, 21 of the 28 Ohio-based Fortune 500 companies, 37 of the 61 Ohio-based Fortune 1000 companies, and more than 300 local not-for-profit organizations. They live all across the greater Columbus area, concentrating mainly on downtown (47%) and surrounding suburbs (32%) as well as outside I-270 and Franklin County (21%).

Events. Athletics. Impact.

The CYP Club develops and hosts more than 150 unique events each year for our members, in addition to offering ongoing volunteer opportunities and promotional assistance with large-scale community events.

The CYP Club Social Program includes regular events such as the Quarterly Member Mixer, Monthly Member Dinners, and Happy Hours, as well as annual events like A Date 2 Remember, the Old School Game Night, Dogs on the Deck, and the Photo Scavenger Hunt. We also host more intimate group outings, from dance lessons and movie nights to events at the theatre, comedy club, and opera. Our Business Networking and Professional Development Program focuses on monthly Networking Breakfast series, evening networking events, CEO speaker panels, and Speed Networking. And a new Culture Series has aligned our organization with more than two dozen local arts groups to heighten the awareness of the arts among YPs throughout Columbus and provide support from the CYP Club to the future culture of our city.

The CYP Club also offers members the opportunity to join or field a team through Athletic Leagues and ongoing Tournaments - representing more than a dozen different sports throughout the year - in addition to recreation and travel activities, including the annual CYP Club cruise, camping and kayaking, zip-lining, ski trips, Ohio and other regional weekend getaways, and more.

In the time we have existed the CYP Club has helped bring in more than $200,000 in charitable donations, raised awareness, and created volunteer opportunities for dozens of local non-profit organizations. Members have been asked to serve on non-profit boards as a result of being actively engaged with the CYP Club. And once a year, we host the Volunteer Info Fair - a casual, networking expo event offering attendees a unique opportunity to connect with dozens of local non-profit organizations and their representatives, as we raise awareness of volunteerism among our members and the entire YP community of central Ohio.
