CYP Club Cares is hosting a volunteer activity in partnership with Local Matters during this years African-American Male Wellness Walk. Each year Local Matters hosts "Veggieland," a fun, educational, and interactive life-sized version of the game, Candyland, that encourages participants to eat more whole foods. All related activities take place in the Kids Area of the walk.

What to expect: CYP Club volunteers will be assigned responsibilities upon arrival. Potential responsibilities include leading stations, assisting at stations, acting as a Lead or Assistant Chef in our Kids Cook-off Challenge, setting up, breaking down, and/or acting as a runner.

What to wear: Volunteers should wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes. Please note this event is outside.

This volunteer activity will be led by CYP Club Cares board member Liz Quinn.

Where to park: There is parking in the Local Matters parking lot.

Where to find us: Please meet the event leaders at Local Matters office, located at 633 Parsons Ave. Columbus, OH, 43206

About the Cause: The mission of Local Matters is to create healthy communities through food education, access, and advocacy. The goal of the National African American Male Wellness Initiative is to raise awareness for preventable health diseases.
