OUR STORY
The Columbus Young Professionals (CYP) Club is a hub for advancing careers, community, conversations and culture for emerging leaders across central Ohio.
Founded in 2005, the Columbus Young Professionals (CYP) Club has grown from a simple idea hatched by two friends over burgers into the nation’s largest membership association for emerging leaders - with more than 20,000 registered members! The CYP Club is a free-to-join membership organization that serves as a regional hub for social events, business networking, recreational sports, leadership development, getting to know the city, and giving back in Columbus.
Our organization is led by a paid staff of 12 and nearly 80 volunteers (including our Columbus Leadership Council). We provide events and connections to help Columbus young professionals succeed in their jobs, meet new friends, get involved in the community, have meaningful discussions, and engage with people from all walks of life. We seek to be a true representation of the next generation of leaders, entrepreneurs, executives, philanthropists, artists and movers & shakers across the Columbus region.
Membership is free (and accessible) to anyone wishing to join. Our vision is to be a beacon for everyone.
Our Members
CYP Club members are educated, active and represent more than 1,000 companies in central Ohio. Nearly 70% of our members are between the ages of 25-34, with 88% of members holding a bachelor's degree or higher. Membership offers you access to all our programming, with each event offering a unique experience! If you are looking to become a part of the CYP Club, there are three levels of membership: Social (free), Premium ($95/year), or Business ($500/year).
Our Events
Throughout the year, our calendar is full of professional and fun opportunities for our members to make connections with one another while getting to know Columbus. We also host a variety of small-group volunteer efforts to give back, totaling more than 5,000 volunteer hours each year! We offer more than 100 member events each year, including recreational sports leagues, community night markets, and leadership & learning sessions. There is truly something for everyone through the CYP Club.
Event attendance can range from a few dozen to a few hundred. And some of our larger initiatives, such as The Grandview Hop summer series, welcome several thousand attendees.
Our Initiatives
As expansive as our network is, the CYP Club also leads several initiatives throughout the year such as the Columbus Impact Academy, CityPulse Columbus, Wonderful Workplaces for Young Professionals, Crash Course Columbus, and the Next Up Columbus Awards. Combined, our events and initiatives have an estimated total reach of 1.75 million and an economic impact of $2.1 million annually.
Our Impact
Since 2005, we have donated more than $650,000 to local charities through our philanthropic efforts and each year we host the Columbus Volunteer Expo, welcoming hundreds of young professionals to connect with dozens of local nonprofits. For the past three years we have been recognized by Columbus Business First as part of their Corporate Citizenship Awards. In 2022 the CYP Club was ranked #8 (out of 100 companies) by in-kind contributions, having donated $328,800 to Central Ohio nonprofits!
